Android 4.4 KitKat blocked Flash Player for browsers

Once the Flash Player from Adobe was the selling point for Android smartphones and tablets. The resource-hungry plug-in but is offered already for almost a year no longer directly over the Google Play Store to download and no longer even further developed by Abobe for mobile devices. Nevertheless, some websites still rely on Flash content and can not be viewed with all appliances accordingly. Now Google has support for Flash blocked directly into Android 4.4 KitKat .

Interestingly, many manufacturers and alternative browsers still offered the opportunity to view Flash content. For this purpose, the latest version of Flash Player has been installed directly from the factory and was able to get the browser to use. Also, you could download the Flash Player when required as an APK, install itself, and accordingly use yet. This is with Android 4.4 KitKat no longer possible, since Google, according to Dolphin has removed the corresponding APIs in the latest version.

To display the last possibility Flash content on an Android 4.4 smartphone or tablet, would be with pre-rendered results. This web pages are processed on a server and only the results sent to the terminal. Exactly this makes as the Puffin Web Browser. It can then be probably richer without problems on an Android smartphone or tablet flash games to play.

clip_image001

Puffin Web Browser Free
Price: Free

For us, this is now not too great loss. Really extensive pages with Flash running on smartphones and tablets, even with high end specifications never really perfect.Annoying Flash banner and advertising are no longer as indicated, although the advertising industry has of course noticed and now increasingly relies on HTML5-based advertising. In the end, Apple has once again proven to be so far ahead thinking company, which has waived the integration of Flash for the iOS devices since the first day.

This affects the time being, of course, only a few devices, since Android 4.4 KitKat so far only on a few Nexus devices has arrived and the G Moto Motorola. In future versions, but it will definitely be no more flash.

Announced Gigaset Tablets QV830 with 8 inch & QV1030 with 10.1 inches

Gigaset knows her probably far only from stationary phones, but the Germany-based company has now announced two own Android tablets. The Gigaset QV830is equipped with an 8-inch display, while the  Gigaset QV1030 a high-resolution 10.1-inch display offers. Both tablets are thereby characterized by a high-quality finish of anodized aluminum and feature a low price.

Gigaset QV830

clip_image002[4]

By design, the Gigaset acts QV830 something unusual with the widening pages.Actually we want otherwise getting a slim enclosure, so that we can embrace with one hand, the tablet also, but this is likely to be difficult here, despite the 8-inch display. Otherwise, it looks very high quality and good processed. The IPS display has a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels and an aspect ratio of 4:3 as the Acer Iconia A1 or the  iPad mini .

As the well-known processor MediaTek Cortex-A7 quad core comes in this model with 1.2 GHz per core and 1 GB of RAM for use. The performance should absolutely suffice in the resolution. Furthermore, there is 8GB of internal memory, which you can expand up to 32 GB, a 5 MP camera on the back, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and WiFi. The operating system Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean will be used. The 3260 mAh battery will probably provide for 8 hours of run time, which would already extremely much for the size. From December, the tablet should be available for the price of 199 €. All other technical details can be found on the Gigaset QV830 product page .

Gigaset QV1030

clip_image004

The Gigaset QV1030 sounds as even more interesting with its 10.1-inch WQXGA large display and a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. Thus, the contents are also displayed smoothly, here comes the 1.8 GHz fast Nvidia Tegra 4 processor with 2 GB of RAM to use. The 9,000 mAh large battery should also allow a period of up to 10 hours. But the loading time of 9 hours! is absolutely unacceptable. Because the microUSB port is probably used just can not enough by conducting energy.

Further facilities here include an 8 MP camera on the back with LED light, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. The internal memory of 16 GB can be increase by a further 32 GB via microSD card if necessary. But the price can convince, because this is pretty reasonable € 369. All other details on the technical data can be found on the  Gigaset QV1030 product page .

We are skeptical whether this Gigaset Android Tablets in Germany have chances of success. The price of the Gigaset QV1030 does sound tempting at the technical data and the aluminum body, but a charging time of 9 hours with a service life of 10 hours ? It did not work. The tablet can not even absorb enough energy to operate it at the socket probably.

Why do not we have Both? - New GeeksPhone runs on Android OS or Firefox

With the GeeksPhone Revolution, the Spanish manufacturer announces a hybrid smartphone to run on the Android OS and Firefox. Do not give it, however the announced Firefox OS smartphone Peak

clip_image002Firefox OS and Android: Both operating systems to run on the GeeksPhone revolution. (Picture: GeeksPhone)

Firefox OS smartphones: GeeksPhone revolution is coming, not peak +, however,

With Keon and peak GeeksPhone has two Firefox OS smartphones manufactured and sold to developers. The Peak + should be the thrust of the company in the Retail Banking. But it is nothing like the company was now known. The basic difficulties are called with the suppliers. Buyers who had already pre-ordered one of the devices can either get their money back, order a peak and get refunded the difference or order the planned GeeksPhone revolution for the same price.

The GeeksPhone revolution to make his name in so far as honor, as it is a multi-OS device. The smartphone should therefore be able to Android or Firefox OS to potter. However, whether both operating systems can be installed in parallel, and users can switch back and forth with a reboot, is currently unknown. From the user point of view the most exciting kind such boot option would, however, probably implement such a concept.

GeeksPhone revolution supports Android and Firefox OS

According to company information, it should be at the GeeksPhone revolution to a smartphone in the upper class. As for the release of the smartphone, the manufacturer considers reasonably covered and refers only to an "early" date.GeeksPhone co-founder Javier Agüera is sure with the revolution many people to surprise positively. Among the reasons he cites the high performance and the competitive price of the planned smartphones.

He did not name the purchase price, however. However, all those who have pre-ordered a Peak +, get a GeeksPhone revolution at the same price of just 150 euros plus shipping and taxes. According to the GeeksPhone concerned for the customers would amount to a discount of almost 50 percent to the revolution. Therefore, the regular price for the smartphone would probably be around 300 euros plus taxes and shipping. Who has a peak + soon, find here all the necessary information to change the order or cancel. For the GeeksPhone revolution so far there is only one little meaningful placeholder website.

LG G2 gets update to Android 4.4 KitKat end of March 2014

clip_image002

The LG G2 (test) is without doubt one of the best smartphones in 2013 and still enjoys in the Android community and more popular. This, consequently, is also accompanied by the call for a good support of the product, almost goes by itself But unfortunately all LG G2 owners must wait a bit longer, if it comes to the update of Android 4.4 KitKat for their device.

When asked by a Twitter user is @ LGBlog has detailed comments on the update plans regarding the LG G2 and announces that can be expected to KitKat only towards the end of the first quarter 2014 with the update. Means according to Adam Riese, that still good 4 months will pull into the country before the current high-end smartphone in the Koreans get the update.

@ Eddy_Cyts LG Electronics Germany will offer the Android KitKat upgrade for the LG G2 end of the first quarter of 2014. ^ Sa

- LG Electronics (@ LGBlog) 25 November 2013

In general it can be said that LG Electronics is a little late with this update, because after the first information direct competitors like HTC One or Samsung Galaxy S4 the update until the end of January to get. When you consider the same time that at CES 2014 back new flagships with Android 4.4 KitKat are presented, this step could be the LG G2 back something to the sidelines and make uninteresting for users.

Cyanogenmod-installer has been banned from the Google Play Store

clip_image002[4]
That's right, the news hit this morning like a bomb. The CyanogenMod installer has been removed from the Google Play store because this is violated, according to Google, the Terms of Service.

Google had the developers written that the breach of the Terms of Service and the Google App users would encourage that they would take a loss of warranty for their device in purchasing. Either you remove the app or we do, so Google in a letter.Only two weeks ago the developers of CyanogenMod had published the installer in Play Store and the app could enjoy after a few days over several hundred thousand downloads. The demand for a simple flash his phone seems great and continues to be unbroken.

Also I have my Galaxy Note 2 provided with the Cyanogenmod and have to admit that the note has 2 get a big performance boost, even though it was very fast before. More free space was an added side effect, but the complete Samsung TouchWiz interface and all Samsung apps are removed.

According to the developers of CyanogenMod, the application will now be submitted to the Amazon and Samsung Store. Whether this will remain there permanently, we'll see. Who wants to flash his smartphone or tablet with CyanogenMod installer, this is now on the CyanogenMod website down load and install.

What do you think about this topic? Correct the step of Google? Would you your smartphone or tablet equipped with a CustomRom? Where do you see the benefits in a CustomRom or the original firmware?

Announced a new version with dual SIM and microSD for Europe: HTC One

clip_image002

On this day, HTC released a new version of HTC One for the European market announced . The incidentally available version can be pre-ordered now and has two new features. A Dual-SIM slot and a microSD slot.

Just before Christmas, the Taiwanese company aims to increase again with minor adjustments, the sales figures of this year's flagship, and now has very surprising officially unveiled the dual-SIM version of the HTC one. The smartphone is on the innards, so technical specifications, basically untouched, only the LTE module apparently is not on the available. The processor, memory, the camera and the display are, however, identical.

The biggest difference is that you like the HTC One Max, the back side, which is also made of aluminum to lose weight, and there can use both the second SIM card and a microSD card.

With this step, HTC uses a neat little niche. In Europe, not so good no high-end smartphones with Dual-SIM available, so I would imagine a very good success.

In the UK, the new HTC One cost 494.99 British pounds, or the equivalent of around 592 euros. The price will certainly be corrected shortly before the launch down.

Lumia 2520 Commercial: Nokia taunts against Apple iPad Air

clip_image002

Nokia has officially unveiled the first Windows RT tablet as part of the Nokia World in Abu Dhabi. In a first spot the Finnish company presented the Lumia 2520 and taunts equal once neatly against the Apple iPad Air

The promotional video has a simple concept: Nokia tries the iPad Air simply portray as bad as possible in order to boost their own sales. In this train, the Finnish advertising department is predominantly a two criticisms of the Apple tablet. The battery life and the lack of keyboard of the iPad Air But somehow seems to be Nokia not very well informed, because for one, the iPad Air known a very good battery life and on the other there are endless keyboards as accessories. Both arguments to argue against the iPad Air, so are pretty nonsensical. I really wonder what Nokia was thinking. Normally I like the commercials of Nokia always very good, however this is pretty unimaginative.

iPhone - so brings you the Fingerprint Reader to 100 percent detection rate

clip_image002The fingerprint reader I personally find really good job on the iPhone and if I'm honest, I do not want to miss this! The reason for this is quite easy to explain - the fingerprint reader increases for me the security of data stored on the iPhone. Without Fingerprint Reader I had used a very simple 4-digit code to unlock my iPhone - but let's be completely honest - this code, the table neighbor read along without any problems. A guessing the code should be fairly easy well with many people, as simple number combinations are used with visual connections. Sure, you could also choose a correct password with high security instead of the 4-digit number codes, but if you want even before the use of the iPhone's only 15 seconds to spend typing a 16 digit password. I think few people will have resorted to this method. But now with the introduction of the fingerprint reader, you can certainly choose such a complex password, because the input from the finger goes fast just as if you tap the 4-digit code in the phone.

Sure - some security experts are now arguing - but if you're kidnapped, then the finger is "dragged" much faster over the reader as how to beat a password from a person out! Ja ne - is clear! If I am kidnapped - I frankly a very different problem than the data on my iPhone and all the really critical things are always encrypted again in addition! clip_image001Also for a copy of a fingerprint is associated criminal energy of distress in which it then is more, to steal than an Apple hardware!

From these viewpoints, thus offers the Fingerprint Reader for me is a plus in safety and facilitate the daily life. A small piece of hardware to which one is accustomed damn fast!

But let's get back to the topic - the detection of the finger on the touch-ID reader. The hit ratio has been with me very well and is probably so achieve the 95 percent, but it is out there to give people with whom the reader is not as optimal recognizes the finger or maybe even people like me who like to have a 100 percent hit rate have in the detection.

For all these, I have the ultimate tip - for it is indeed almost not worthwhile to post - but you have to at least get the idea! Characteristic is the "trick", you think to yourself - yeah ... of course!

Who wants a higher detection rate, should simply scan the corresponding finger several times! That is one finger as the thumb is then left - Finger 2 is again the left thumb - finger 3 is the right thumb and finger 4 is again the thumb on the right! Now are per thumb each two records in the database and you can really feel a significant improvement. Since I'm so doing I reach now a hit rate of 100 percent and felt the detection of even a tad bit is faster. But this I cannot really comment on it as it could be my imagination.

So, I wish a happy rescan of the fingers in touch-ID! clip_image001[1]
