WQHD resolution for next-gen smartphones: LG 5.5-inch quad-core display

The development of touch-screen display from the mobile sector continues apace and in the last 12 months we have been looking forward on some smartphones, tablet PCs and phablets with Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, which is now also commercially can buy.

LG Display has now unveiled the next step in the development of small touchscreen display, with a new WQHD touchscreen display that supports a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, all at a high pixel density of 534ppi and a size of only 5 0.5-inch.

The newly launched touch screen display is only 1.21 mm deep and has a margin of only 1.2 millimeters thick. The operation is indicated by the brightness 430cd / m² and there are so-called low-temperature poly-silicon substrate used. In the coming year we can expect WQHD resolution, which is then a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels should assist in the operation of the first smartphones.

This year, it will already be seen with larger touchscreen displays on the upcoming IFA 2013 in Berlin, some tablet PCs, which already support the resolution. With the advance of new technology, should future, even higher resolutions are possible on portable devices.
