Apple patents an augmented reality system

clip_image002

Apple strikes again today with a new patent that is a bit far from what we can see right now between their products. The paper describes a system of augmented reality applied to smartphones and other devices capable of producing a layer of an object when referring to him. In the picture that heads this article we can see this idea applied to a block of buildings.

Another example described in the patent is that the user could point the camera device to a wiring circuit of a computer. Then, on the screen of the device appear in augmented reality images together with some explanatory notes on the elements of the circuit. The annotations may come from a database library, for example.

The user may also add your own notes on hand to share with other users. This would of pearls in the medical field, which has always been viewing this type of augmented reality.

This patent may remain in the file, forgotten, like most documents of the same style, or may one day see it applied to our smartphones and tablets.
