Toshiba PX04S Series: Ultra-fast SAS SSDs announced with 270,000 IOPS

From Toshiba we would today have a look at the new Toshiba PX04S series of SAS SSD hard drives which is especially suitable for enterprise environments, and thus are to be used in large computing systems and companies.

The new series of Toshiba PX04S Series SAS SSDs offers a host of highlights to, including a dual-port 12,0Gbit per second SAS interface, which can transfer data at lightning speed. The read speed in 4K random read range is specified with gigantic 270,000 IOPS what conventional SSDs is superior by far. In addition follows an impressive 4K random write performance, which may include up to 125,000 IOPS. The storage capacity of as much as 3.84 terabytes, one should not ignore likewise.

The new series includes several models, including the PX04SHB SSD hard drives that have been optimized for read-intensive environments and provide capacities from 200GB to 1,6TB available. The models in the series are designed for PX04SMB Hyperscale- and virtualization environments and will bring capacities of 3,2TB with it. The third series of PX04SVB Value models is designed for server and storage environments, offering storage capacities of up to 3.84 terabytes of and models of PX04SRB series are designed for Web-based environments and also offer up to 3 , 84 terabytes of capacity at.

All new SAS SSD drives go in a sleek 2.5-inch form factor with a height of 15 millimeters at the start and can be installed easily and quickly in enterprise servers and storage systems. In addition, there is a limited warranty of five years, and a power-loss protection and end-to-end data protection. For the self-encrypting, Instant Secure Erase is included.

All new SAS SSD hard drives of PX04S series will be presented next week at the Flash Memory Summit in California. The launch should also take place shortly. The prices for the launch, we have, however, are not yet available.
