Android OS: 99% of all Android devices threatened by vulnerability

\clip_image001

Android moults years since the most widespread, mobile operating system and can now boast nearly 1 billion devices activated.

But 99% of these units are designed a security risk that should not be taken lightly by the user. As the security company Bluebox recognized as early as February, a malicious code on the device, by installing "unknown sources" will be installed, which can pretty much read everything from your smartphone or tablet.

Starting with reading the contact information, images, messages and phone book, but also paid services can be availed which can drive the customer into financial ruin.

The problem is Android 1.6 and is up to the current iteration of Android (Android 4.2.2) is still not resolved. Only in the Samsung Galaxy S4 this problem does not seem to be present, or has been fixed in time by Samsung.

Android applications are generally protected by a signature that can be seen by that it actually is the correct application. This is similar to a passport, you must submit to the example in controls. Based on this signature, the system detects an application for which it claims to be. But now is precisely the crux, as it can be implemented at this point malware in an application and is not recognized as such.

The problem occurs especially when applications from unknown sources, such as APK file, or other download platforms are installed on your device. Therefore, it is currently advised to only install software from the Google Play or stop the installation from unknown sources.

The option "allow applications from unknown sources" can be found under yourPreferences> Security on your Android device.

Although the problem Google has been known for months, has not been traded. One can only hope that is now rectified by this outcry in the online media by the manufacturer.
