Review: Huawei P8 Lite - price-performance hammer with Dual SIM

Currently, many smartphones are all the rage, but I wanted to but time to try something different and especially swimming against the tide somewhat. I refer to two points, namely size of the smartphone and the pricing. So I have my Huawei P8 Lite looked once more detail, the 5 "smartphone is in fact built on the small side for an android, and costs less than 250 €, while there is the model as normal version or with dual SIM, which is second-mentioned tested here.

Delivery

The Huawei P8 Lite is delivered in an elegant white box, it is in addition to the smartphone, the nowadays usual accessories: A 3.5mm jack plug headset, a micro-USB charging cable and a suitable power supply to it. Of course, a SIM slot Opener is and brief instructions. All you need.

Processing and haptics

As mentioned, the P8 Lite a 5 "smartphone and thus rather small, considering the present Brummer runs for comparison. Thanks to the narrow edge at P8 Lite can be easily operated with one hand yet this, at least with my hand. I appreciate that very much and therefore grab still to smartphones that allow exactly yet. The frame has a metallic look, but is made of plastic, it shows the weight then. Nevertheless, but everything feels built to high quality. Generally, it is pretty good in the hand, the price difference is clear from the materials used, not from processing.

The headset jack is mounted on the upper side, microUSB jack on the bottom and all slots and buttons are located on the right side. On the front page no haptic button exists. On the right side both SIM cards can be stored and a microSD card is used for memory expansion of 16GB of internal memory, more on that later.

Display

The display of Huawei P8 Lite has a 720p resolution (1280 × 720) and thus reached 294 ppi. This is not an absolute top value, but can still be seen by the naked eye only individual pixels when there trouble. The qHD display can be used well, the automatic brightness control was always a bit too dark. Therefore, I have the display set fix. Nice feature: You can also regulate the color temperature, "improve sunlight readability" option did not leave me much of an impression. The screen simply reflects, as in direct sunlight, the brightness fully to screw up or even better, to align slightly different.

Anything else noticed ...

Important to mention: The dual SIM devices by Huawei have one thing in common, the second slot for a SIM card can be used for memory expansion via microSD or just for a second SIM. Both is not because you have to decide. If you can live with 16GB of internal memory, so come enjoy the benefits of dual SIM. I have not tried dual SIM, absence of second subscription or matching abroad, where I would have used a card.

The built-in battery with a capacity of 2'220mAh enough problems for one day even with intensive use. As always, I attach here any hour. A smartphone must hold a full day or then two at a time. One and a half days brings me nothing, I invite anyway overnight. With the Huawei P8 Lite is therefore spend a delightful day in it, then I had remaining capacity but as mentioned respectively loaded.

The camera I have used a little too much, but want to load the days a few more pictures on flickr...

Performance

As usual, I have the Huawei measured P8 Lite with the Geekbench. 3 This smartphone achieved a score of 589 (single core) respectively 2775 (multi-core). The result can be seen here. It falls on mainly that the Lite version in the multi-core test can compete with current, expensive smartphones entirely, while lagging slightly in single-core test. For normal, everyday use but of little importance, the service was in my trial period at any time liquid and easily.

Conclusion

What can I say, the Huawei P8 Lite is a solid smartphone with a price which can be seen. Cloudy, with P8 Lite you do in all respects small drawbacks as well as the name suggests. The trump card here is value and in the P8 Lite is very strong. In this respect, I can recommend the smartphone all people seeking a new device and no time for big whopper and prices beyond € 500 have. The buyer gets a device that his tasks done, not the highest resolution display or the newest and best camera, but it is in midfield.
