Toshiba shows new lineup for 2016 - partly with a new chassis and Skylake CPUs (6th Gen)

In recent days, Toshiba had announced his upcoming lineup in the field notebook. This includes laptops, the Satellite Pro, Tecra and Portégé series. The manufacturer is increasingly relying on the new Skylake platform from Intel, so on 6th generation processors. The new lineup in 2016 will be available in the first quarter of next year, said Toshiba has announced some new additions even for November.

In addition to the update on Skylake, Toshiba will deploy some models also a new chassis. Here, no longer used the notebook manufacturers in all models expensive materials. Some new additions then plastic instead of carbon or magnesium is to be used. Toshiba stressed, however, that it will continue to provide high-quality chassis of the Tecra and Portégé in series.

The 14- and 15.6-inch Toshiba notebooks are subdivided further into two series. The A-series models are designed for normal business users. The Z-Series is the premium line, in which the models Tecra Z40-C and Z50-C Tecra are settled. These notebooks will offer Toshiba both with Broadwell (5th generation) and with Skylake processors (6th generation). The customer can also draw on vPro processors. The Tecra series can be equipped with up to 16 GB of RAM type DDR3L. For graphics, the integrated HD graphics Intel CPU is responsible. Only the models of Z-series have a dedicated graphics from Nvidia. For mass storage, Toshiba offers both normal hard drives or fast SSD modules. Here are several capacities available. All Tecra models are also optionally available with a DVD burner. Toshiba is especially proud on the docking capability of Tegra models.

The network connection is made with the models of the Tecra series via a fast wireless, which uses 2 × 2 MIMO antennas and is compatible with the AC-Standard. LTE is the Z series reserved.

Portégé Z20t-C

For the discerning business customers, Toshiba has the Portégé family on offer. These notebooks are very light and have a long battery life. In addition to the two models with 13.3-inch notebook (A30-C, Z30-C) Toshiba also offers a 2-in-1 Detachable. The Portégé Z20t-C is based on the 2016 Edition on a Skylake-core M processor, up to 16GB DDR3 LP stand aside. On the unit there is also a USB Type C connector which is not compatible with Thunderbolt, however. The tablet unit from Toshiba Portégé Z20t-C has a very robust magnesium case and weighs 840 grams straight times. In conjunction with the keyboard dock there are 1.64 kg.

In the notebooks of the Satellite Pro series Toshiba has not changed much. The processor and thus the graphics were changed to Skylake. Toshiba will offer these models with other processors. This series will continue with different sized displays give (13.3 to 17.3 inches). The equipment varies, depending on the model / display size.
