Introduced a new model with E-Ink technology for students: Sony e-Paper slate tablet prototype

The current models of tablet PCs are usually equipped with color touch-screen display and now we would like to present the first information about the new e-paper slate tablet PC from Sony, which is an entirely different course.

The new Sony e-Paper Slate Tablet PC is not based on conventional touch screens but you have to offer a display with E Ink technology, which will support at a size of 13.3 inches, a resolution of 1200 x 1600 pixels, which for comparison, a whole could DIN A4 page. The display is specifically equipped with the electromagnetic induction technology and to use the e-ink technology, especially less power during operation.

The depth of the prototype is given as 6.8 millimeters and the weight will be around 835 grams. The integrated memory is four gigabytes, and thanks to its microSD card slot, expandable. To exchange data or to access the Internet will be wireless and the e-ink tablet is mainly aimed at students and teachers. Whether and when the prototype will go into production, is not yet entirely clear. In late 2013, for the first time take place at several universities in Japan where you will consider this model through its paces a field trial.
