iPad Mini 2nd Generation: Sharp and LG Electronics to deliver Retina Display

The second generation of the iPad mini will probably only come in the autumn on the market and almost certainly have a retina display. Success is waiting to happen basically in an attempt to mobilize Apple already require resources to provide a far-reaching market a start on the legs.

The Taiwanese industry publication DigiTimes has once again commented on the rumors surrounding the next iPad mini and expressed in a report, which deals mainly with the manufacturer AU Optronics (AUO), the production of the Retina display. In the current quarter, approximately 10 million copies are produced, LG will be responsible for 7 million and AUO for the remaining 3 million displays.

The contract for the Retina display of the smaller displays but could not get AUO due to production problems and so are currently mainly LG and Sharp take on the role of suppliers. According to DigiTimes, the final product will be presented at the end of the third or beginning of the fourth quarter.

Despite AUO's struggles, the company has quietly submitted panels for use in the next-generation iPad mini for certification by Apple, the sources said, adding so far did LG Display and Sharp have been selected as panel suppliers for the upcoming tablet.
