Announced Gigaset Tablets QV830 with 8 inch & QV1030 with 10.1 inches

Gigaset knows her probably far only from stationary phones, but the Germany-based company has now announced two own Android tablets. The Gigaset QV830is equipped with an 8-inch display, while the  Gigaset QV1030 a high-resolution 10.1-inch display offers. Both tablets are thereby characterized by a high-quality finish of anodized aluminum and feature a low price.

By design, the Gigaset acts QV830 something unusual with the widening pages.Actually we want otherwise getting a slim enclosure, so that we can embrace with one hand, the tablet also, but this is likely to be difficult here, despite the 8-inch display. Otherwise, it looks very high quality and good processed. The IPS display has a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels and an aspect ratio of 4:3 as the Acer Iconia A1 or the  iPad mini .

As the well-known processor MediaTek Cortex-A7 quad core comes in this model with 1.2 GHz per core and 1 GB of RAM for use. The performance should absolutely suffice in the resolution. Furthermore, there is 8GB of internal memory, which you can expand up to 32 GB, a 5 MP camera on the back, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and WiFi. The operating system Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean will be used. The 3260 mAh battery will probably provide for 8 hours of run time, which would already extremely much for the size. From December, the tablet should be available for the price of 199 €. All other technical details can be found on the Gigaset QV830 product page .

The Gigaset QV1030 sounds as even more interesting with its 10.1-inch WQXGA large display and a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. Thus, the contents are also displayed smoothly, here comes the 1.8 GHz fast Nvidia Tegra 4 processor with 2 GB of RAM to use. The 9,000 mAh large battery should also allow a period of up to 10 hours. But the loading time of 9 hours! is absolutely unacceptable. Because the microUSB port is probably used just can not enough by conducting energy.

Further facilities here include an 8 MP camera on the back with LED light, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. The internal memory of 16 GB can be increase by a further 32 GB via microSD card if necessary. But the price can convince, because this is pretty reasonable € 369. All other details on the technical data can be found on the  Gigaset QV1030 product page .

We are skeptical whether this Gigaset Android Tablets in Germany have chances of success. The price of the Gigaset QV1030 does sound tempting at the technical data and the aluminum body, but a charging time of 9 hours with a service life of 10 hours ? It did not work. The tablet can not even absorb enough energy to operate it at the socket probably.
