With Android, titanium and alligator: luxury smartphone Vertu Ti starting at 8,000 euros to have

The luxury manufacturer Vertu has launched its first Android smartphone. It convinces with a titanium case, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and a Bang & Olufsen sound system, where the London Symphony Orchestra has mitgewerkelt. Just under 8,000 euros it cost Ti Technically, however, it can at best compete with other leading smartphones.

For a luxury brand like Vertu , it becomes harder and harder to stand out from the brutally competitive market smartphones. Scratch-resistant glass has been almost every manufacturer, Kevlar casing can also be found in some devices, Nokia wants to graph experiment. More and more devices, such as the Sony Xperia Z are water and dust resistant. Even HTC phones with beats from the bar have installed a high-class sound system equal. How can one differentiate there, if not with rubies and bling-bling? Vertu tried it with the finest materials which are again a few sizes better than what smartphones provide for the common people. Justify that a starting price of almost 8,000 euros?

The series Vertu Ti is equipped innately with a 3.7-inch display. The screen is made of sapphire, the screen resolution only WVGA (800 x 480 pixels around, Vertu is the exact resolution unfortunately unknown). Below the average rank of the battery (1250 mAh, with only 200 hours on standby) and the Front camera with 1.3 megapixels. Better the dual-core processor at 1.7 GHz, HSPA + with cable bundling, 64 GB of internal memory and and the 8-megapixel main camera with autofocus sound and dual LED flash. Bluetooth 4 and NFC are all on board. Operating system is a customized and equipped with extra services Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. With 181 to 201 grams (depending on model) the Ti hard and with 12.8 millimeters in depth is anything but thin.

At the request of alligator

Vertu has developed the integrated sound system from Bang & Olufsen's own words, along with the London Symphony Orchestra. Powerful stereo speakers to present the customer with a "symphonic sound". The Android system is equipped with its own design interface. In the side of the device you have inserted an additional own Vertu button, which presented to the buyer at the touch special services: "Vertu Concierge" provides access to events, restaurants and lounges in the area, as well as discounts at luxury boutiques and information on upcoming events of Upper Class.

The simplest design is the 'Titanium Black Leather "for Euro 7900, in addition to the Vertu used sapphire crystal and black leather, ceramic and brushed and polished titanium. In the model, "Red Gold Mixed Metals" is next to black titanium, leather and ceramics also polished 18-carat red gold on board. Prices for the model Vertu is known only on request, as well as for the "Titanium Black Alligator". Here is but actually - the name is just program - Alligator skin with processed. For grip the surface. Fourth model in this group is "Pure Titanium Black" for 9,500 euros, which differs from the "Titanium Black Leather" by matt, polished and blackened PVD titanium.

V logo is Eighties

Assume that brushed titanium in manufacturing is very complicated, we had you yesterday at the launch of the Cruiser Titanium reported. Manufacturer Gresso brings the device but from relatively low cost 1,800 euros on the market. However, the buyer will receive only a simple feature phone with a technical equipment of yesteryear. The Vertu Ti can keep up on some weak points actually with today's smartphones. However, not more, and for that prices are from € 7,900 again a bit much.

The design is a matter of taste. It reminds me a little sadly at the first Xperia smartphones with Android from Sony Ericsson and the ugly plastic buttons. When the plastic Vertu Ti is replaced by fine ceramics, but this does not alter the fact that an Android smartphone without sensor buttons now looks frumpy. And while we're on the subject: The big V logo above reminds me, by design, hard to the 80s. Almost 13 millimeters thick are also quite a chunk. Respect to the materials. Who has the wherewithal and like to spend, who can now at least once look at Vertu.
