Earlier this year, the Canonical Ubuntu Phone OS officially presented and given a first glimpse of the new operating system. As part of the Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas, the developers have once again stirred the big drum and a demonstration of the Galaxy Nexus sporadically with Ubuntu. Well it was announced via press release that the first touch Developer Preview already in the next week is available.

On 21 February, the development team will provide the source code and images for the Touch Developer Preview for download. In contrast is originally announced, the first version not only support the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, but the Nexus 4th Developers and interested users can therefore naturally provide their own Nexus smartphone with the new operating system. The download for the Nexus 4 and Galaxy Nexus to be in the next few weeks, then on the appropriate website available.

Images and open source code for the Touch Developer Preview of Ubuntu will be published on Monday 21st February, supporting the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 4 smartphones.

It is also interesting that the development team to offer the visitors of the Mobile World Congress to provide your own device with the firmware. Next Thursday we will of course play the firmware on our Nexus 4 and put you on the various functions of the operating system accordingly. A hands-on video, there will be also.
