RIM's BlackBerry smartphones continue to betray the trust of society, and now the Australian Department of the Treasury has decided to leave these devices in favor of the iPhone. So there will be new devices ready to be offered employees.
Another heavy blow to the Canadian company, sinking more and more, being excluded from major governmental agencies around the globe. It had already happened in the United States, and is now in Australia to want to change devices for their employees in the public sector. According to the head of communications Peter Alexander:
BlackBerry devices have done a great job, but the choice to change device was taken after the Defence Signals Directorate (DSD), Australian Agency for the prevention of espionage of electromagnetic signals, iOS certified for use in government.
According to Alexander, this choice was made after carefully valutto the major limitations of BlackBerry devices, and then felt more appropriate to turn on the devices made in Cupertino. The Android devices have not been taken into account in a simple matter of safety, since they have not been certified by the DSD.
Today's announcement comes just a week after the big event dedicated to BB10 Blackberry in New York, where the company unveiled two new smartphones: the Z10 and Q10. Both are running the latest software BB10, and both will be available in the U.S. next month. This feedback is positive, but these two devices will be enough to change the fortunes of the company?
