The Samsung Galaxy S2 in Germany still waits in vain for the official Jelly Bean update and so far has unfortunately nothing has been done. The distribution has recently reached Italy, but over the Alps, it has yet to make the software update. Samsung now has the kernel source for the new Android version for download provided and thus opened the way for the first custom ROMs.
As part of the distribution of the update to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean that this country is still not available, the South Korean company has published the corresponding source code for the firmware I9100XXLSD. The Samsung Open Source Center of the source code for the GT-I9100 is available for download and should certainly be of interest to one or two developers. In the coming weeks could therefore already the first custom ROMs based JellyBean appear on the official firmware and the part in the worst case even before distributing Samsung.
Nevertheless, the publication of the source code is certainly a good sign that the rollout of the new version of Android is progressing further and hopefully soon also reached the German units. Samsung, however, this is not official statements and we can only assume or hope that the update will be released this month. Alternatively impatient users can also put your hands on and flash the firmware on the Samsung Galaxy S2. The following instructions makes it possible.
