iOS has been staying with attached files and deleted messages

Some versions of iOS have experienced a bug that kept in memory attachments of messages (iMessage and SMS) even after manually deleted by the user.

When you receive an attachment in a message read in the Messaging application included in iOS, it is stored in the following path:

/ Var / mobile / Library / SMS / Attachments

If we remove the message containing the attachment, it should disappear from the terminal's memory, however, this was not the case with all versions of iOS.

As we read in the source, iOS 6.0 or iOS 5.1.1 had this error. Addition, this directory is accessible without jailbreak and is part of the backups in iCloud or iTunes. Rebooting the device files not made completely disappear, occupying extra memory that was not reflected anywhere.

This failure could be considered as very serious in that environment, has already been fixed in iOS 6.1. If you do not have the latest version of the operating system and this issue affects you, it is best to make a clean restore to iOS 6.1.
