Buffalo DriveStation Mini Thunderbolt SSD - rapid NAS system with up to 1TB storage capacity

The company Buffalo Technology we can imagine today a new NAS system, the crazy not only with the Intel Thunderbolt technology but is also sold with pure SSD drives.

The new NAS system is the Buffalo DriveStation Mini Thunderbolt SSD, available to buy in two versions with 512GB and 1TB (1000GB) of SSD storage space. In the system, two 2.5-inch bays will find for SSD hard drives and the Intel Thunderbolt interface are rapid data transfers at up to 740MB per second read during and up to 600MB per second when writing data possible. Overall, one finds two Thunderbolt ports on the system.

The hard drives can be inter alia on the JBOD principle in the system to manage and can optionally be operated as a RAID 0. The NAS is also daisy-chain capability and up to six of these storage systems are combined in the composite. The installed hard drives are already shipped pre-formatted for Mac computers.

The aluminum housing has dimensions of 45 x 154 x 102 millimeters and is additionally protected against vibrations and impacts. Prices range from € 679.99 / 839.99 CHF for the 512GB model and € 969.99 / 1199.99 CHF for the 1TB model. In both models there is a three-year warranty.
