Samsung SSD 840 mSATA EVO - tiny SSD with 8.5 grams and 1TB storage capacity

In the field of solid state drives, SSDs, we now introduce you to the new Samsung SSD 840 mSATA EVO, which is available in a real small form factor and comes up with a huge storage space. The new Samsung SSD 840 mSATA EVO has been developed in the tiny mSATA format and is only 3.85 millimeters not only extremely flat, but also with 8.5 grams really easy.

Despite this small size, it has housed a storage capacity of 1TB (1000GB) on the media, which will be available the first model in this size on the market.

The new Samsung SSD 840 mSATA EVO has been developed, among others, for use in ultra-portable notebooks and Ultrabooks and is equipped with 128 gigabit NAND flashes in 10Nm construction. A total of 16 layers of these 128GB chips are used in order to achieve the huge space. In the area of ​​bandwidth speeds up to 540MB per second read of data and are at 520MB per second when writing data indicated respectively 98,000 and 90,000 IOPS per second.

Also is for data security AES 256-bit encryption with it and the new models also support the IEEE 1667 standards in the field of TCG Opal Security solution. As software the Samsung Data Migration and the Magician 4.3 is employed. As early as the next February 2014, the new models will be available in Germany, including in smaller capacities from 120GB for 129 €, with 250GB for 199 €, € 359 for 500GB and 1TB (1000GB) for € 615.
