Malware vendors love the cloud

Security firm Solutionary has published its risk study for the fourth quarter of 2013.According to the experts, there is an increased trend towards the use of cloud offerings to distribute malware. This use malware developers offers the same reasons as legitimate users: The initial cost is low and developers to distribute their malicious software quickly via their own pages. Also, the trusted basically IP addresses of the major providers complicate the blocking by blacklists.

29 percent of all malware in the fourth quarter of 2013 was spread over the server of ten hosters. Sweet 16 percent of which on the cloud platform from Amazon.
