Volkswagen E-Up: new city car with electric drive and 150km range

From the automotive sector, we can make you a first notice of upcoming IAA 2013 in Frankfurt, where besides the numerous new models from different manufacturers and the new Volkswagen E-Up! be seen, the electric version of the popular small car.

The new Volkswagen E-Up! will be equipped with an electric motor and the 82PS/60kW drive system has to provide a maximum torque of 210Nm. The sprint from 0-100kmh takes place within 14 seconds and the maximum top speed is specified with 135kmh, making the E-Up! will be the perfect car for the city.

The power supply provides a battery with 18.7 kWh capacity is available and the potential range on a single charge, with up to 150 kilometers stated, not least because of the low weight of only 1.185 kg. Volkswagen has also integrated a quick charge system that can recover up to 80% capacity in 30 minutes. In addition comes the CCS system is used, what you can use regular outlets or charging stations for the next charge.

Other features of the new Volkswagen E-Up! include LED daytime running lamps, a new bumper and 15-inch rims. In autumn the Auto Show in Frankfurt you will be able to order the new power-up. The exact price will be well known by then.
