Several years ago we were able to you for the first time by Volkswagen XL1 concept report, that would be over the years have been almost forgotten. About two weeks before the Geneva Motor Show next March 2013, Volkswagen has now released a sign of life for XL1, because the 1-liter car will go into production and thus also appear in stores soon.
The Volkswagen XL1 is to be strongly out of the role of the typical automobile today. A 2-cylinder TDI engine with 48PS/35kW 27PS/20kW and another electric motor is used. To the hybrid drive system, there is also added a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and the XL1 has a drag coefficient of 0.189 Cd, the vehicle with the highest aerodynamic at all.
Other features include the sprint from 0-100kmh, which can be completed with the good 75HP in 12.7 seconds, with a top speed of 160kmh and a combined fuel consumption of 0.9 liters per 100 kilometers. The CO2 load is just 21 grams per kilometer and to 50kmh can let work only the electric motor.
The VW XL1 offers enough interior space for driver and passenger, and was designed as a 2-seater. By the end of 2013 could the new 1-liter car in Germany will be available. Detailed information about the people say nothing at VW yet.
